Dr. Jack Gewarter established Bloorcourt Veterinary Clinic in 1984 with the vision of always treating patients as if they were our own animal companions, and offering exceptional care with wisdom, integrity and compassion. A 1980 graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, he has developed a special interest and valuable experience in the areas of orthopedic surgery and veterinary acupuncture. Dr. Jack’s passions include traveling and wildlife conservation which have led him to share his expertise with communities throughout the world for over 30 years. He continues to promote global ecological health as a member of the Board of Directors for Veterinarians Without Borders.
At home which includes Mexico and Costa Rica, he is surrounded by his busy family including “two litters” of kids, and Violet, the nurturing Standard Poodle, who nursed two litters of kittens! There’s also Phoenix, one of her feline offspring, and T.D. the ancient Yorkshire “terrorist”, as well as a growing family of quarter horses. For balance Dr. Jack is a yoga teacher and practitioner and a member of the Centre of Gravity Sangha in Toronto.
