Dr. Parente graduated from the University of Guelph, Ontario Veterinary College in 2000, after first completing an Honours BSc in Biology. She first joined Bloorcourt Vet Clinic in her teens and recognized her calling to become a Veterinarian. She continued her affiliation with Bloorcourt as she completed her veterinary training and then rejoined the practice as a full time veterinarian. She has experience in a wide range of veterinary medicine and has developed special interests in palliative care, preventive and internal medicine and client education.
In her free time, Dr. Parente sometimes teaches dog bite prevention in elementary schools. She shares her home with her husband, their two young boys, a very gentle German Shepherd cross named Kelso, and is still the adoptive mother of Sammy, the one-eyed cat she rescued several years ago.
